We went to the National Archives at Kew to see what we could discover about our English ancestors. You have to register for a reader’s card & the person doing this for us managed to make a card with David’s name & my photo. So we started again

I’d pre-ordered some documents about my GG uncles who were Mariners & now know some of the ships they were on & which ports they visited which is fun. Then we asked for help but none was forthcoming. It’s such a big place that I think you need a day to learn the ropes & then many visits to find what they have.

A bit frustrating really!
